2023-2024 YOUTH BASKETBALL

Take it to the hoop!
Play starts December 9th and goes for 8 weeks. Games will be played on Saturday’s. No basketball games will be played on December 23rd or Dec 30th. Pk-4th will practice first 20-30 mins before games. 3-8th grades will be occasionally traveling for games to Park City and Kamas.

Please register your child within the current grade they are enrolled this school year.

Late Registration Starts:  Nov 26th-30th    $15 late fee added to registration fee.

General rules

  1. Jr size 27.5 ball provided.
  2. Officials and scorekeepers are working for our league, any questions or concerns contact the coordinator.
  3. Players will be given new jerseys to be worn this season.
  4. No jewelry or hats allowed.
  5. Baskets to be lowered.
  6. No refs in this league, coaches communicate best with players. Please correct issues when needed, stop the game and help kids understand what a foul is, encourage dribbling, etc.

Time regulations

  1. The first 20 minutes of skills and development in shooting, passing, dribbling, and defense.
  2. The second 40 minutes spent playing an organized game.

Players

  1. All players must play half the ball game.
  2. No one can play the entire game unless there are not enough players.
  3. Please strive for equal playing time.

Rules of play

  1. 4 players vs 4 players will be the style of play, to enhance each kid’s experience.
  2. Score will NOT be tracked.
  3. There will be no BACK COURT violations.
  4. Defense CAN NOT guard until half-court. NO DOUBLE TEAMING.
  5. MAN TO MAN defense only. Defend the same color wristband.
  6. NO STEALING the ball when dribbling or passing.
  7. Coaches please stop and teach during the game.

  1. Strive to set an example of good sportsmanship, have players do the same.
  2. Be kind and courteous with the players, officials, coaches and fans.

  7. At 5 team fouls per quarter the two shot bonus will be in effect. Fouls will restart every quarter.

rules, or is not conducting him/herself in a positive manner, he has the right to ask the
coach to leave at any time and he/she could be done for the rest of the season.

  3. Open substitutions will be allowed. Substitutions are to be made during dead balls or during quarter breaks. Players must sub in at the score clack table and wait until the official signals them in.
